Dr. Sami Abdel Aziz, the dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, has declared that this agreement is considered a coronation of the fruitful co-operation between the Faculty of Mass Communication in the university and the German Institution of Broadcasting and Television during the last two years. In addition, it aims at enhancing the bases of co-operation for common professional and societal purposes, and developing good rapport between the Egyptian and German youth. He adds that both sides have agreed to exchange invitations to participate in scientific conferences, forums, and round-table discussions that are organized by each side, over and above organizing extensive training courses in the new field of mass communication that are in keeping with the requirements of Cairo University. The coordination of communication in the agreement is conducted by Dr Hassan Emad Mekkawi, the vice dean of the Faculty of Mass Communication, on behalf of Cairo University, as well as Mrs. Kristina Schuemacher, the person in charge of International Marketing, on the German side.
Dr. Mekkawi has mentioned that this agreement allows for sending students from Cairo University to take part in the courses held by the Deutsche Welle Academy for media people. Moreover, the German broadcaster provides privileges for the students of Cairo University to work in the editing departments in Bonn in the accordance with its capacity and readiness to accommodate them.
