Cairo University Council Discusses the Conduct of Educational Process in Faculties and Stresses the Activation of Student Activity

Cairo University Council has held its periodical monthly meeting on Monday, October 27, 2014 which is headed by Dr.\ Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University. The Council began its meeting with a mourning pause reading surat Al-Fatiha for the souls of the martyrs of Armed Forces, the victims of the dastardly terrorist attack in Sinai. The council has condemned the criminal act stressing its support to all the procedures adopted by the state in combating terrorism.



The council has discussed the conduct of the educational process which has witnessed regularity in the first two weeks in faculties during the first term. It stressed the role of faculties’ deans in guaranteeing study and lectures regularity in their faculties. The council has also confirmed the necessity of providing a monthly statement about the extent of the commitment of faculty staff members and their assistants to attending the lectures they are in charge of according to the announced schedules, as well as the rates of absence and attendance, and submitting the report to the university each month. The council asserted the necessity of activating student activities, providing social care from Social Solidarity Fund to the students who are unable to pay for faculty, excluding the students who failed from getting benefit of the support allocated from the fund, and finishing the procedures of housing students in university hostels by the end of the current month. Cairo University Council has approved organizing trips to New Suez Canal Project. The council has confirmed the necessity of activating the procedures adopted by the university to guarantee the regularity of the educational process, stressing the decisiveness and the use of law in facing any riots.
