A Statement from Cairo University on the Incidents Occurred on Wednesday 09-09-2015 at Faculty of Engineering

Cairo University announces its strong indignation over the confusion which surrounded the process of the coordination of admission to universities on Wednesday, 09/09/2015. Thousands of students of the third phase of General Secondary gathered in front of Faculty of Engineering, Cairo University, since 8 a.m. in the morning in order to storm it because of incorrect and false information spread by the Coordination Bureau. The third phase students broke into Faculty of Engineering gates and blocked the road in front of the Faculty. This prevented faculty staff members and guests of Faculty of Egyptians and foreigners from entering the faculty, the matter that endangered the faculty security. Thanks to the care of Allah, alert security systems affiliated to The Security Directorate, and the administrative security affiliated to Cairo University, catastrophic consequences were prevented from happening.

Horrified by the careless treatment of some officials of Coordination Bureau towards this problem, Cairo University is seriously considering the continuity of hosting coordination laboratories between its shores in order to safeguard its prestige and maintain its values and facilities.
