Cairo University Raises International Publication Awards and Applies Research Indicators Measurement Mechanism

 Cairo University Council approved the development of additional award to those who publish 10 researches in the same volume, provided that those researches are of high impact factor according to Thomson ranking of journals. The university council decided dealing with students and employees, who publish international researches in the name of Cairo University, as if they are staff members regarding international publication awards.


Cairo University President Prof. Dr. Gaber Nassar said that publication in international scientific journals of high impact factor, such as the two periodicals of nature and science is crucial for raising universities ranking rate.


Cairo University President pointed out that academic staff international publication awards reached EGPs 12, 000, 000 within 6 months.


Cairo University Vice-President for Graduate Studies and Research Amr Adly said that the university will apply ،،Pure Electronic Mechanism,, in cooperation with Elsevier International Publisher. This mechanism aims at measuring the performance of faculties, institutes and researchers concerning international publication and its relation to financed research projects, beneficiary industrial bodies and patents.
