Cairo University President Gaber Nassar said that ،،there is no increase in accommodation and subsistence fees at Cairo University hostels in the new academic year 2016/2017. ,, He pointed out that ،،the university hostels, accommodates about 15, 000 students, will be ready at full capacity to receive new and previously enrolled students this new academic year. All the maintenance and preparations of buildings, restaurants and facilities of the university hostels including male students hostel, female students hostel and Sheikh Zayed Hostel are to be completed before the academic year begins. ,,
Cairo University President added that ،،the University is keen on enhancing infrastructure, means of accommodation and subsistence for expatriate students at hostels. Cairo University is also keen on providing various services and activities in order for hostels to become functioning living places for students in spite of the high cost of hostel accommodation and subsistence. ,,
Cairo University President urged following up the implementation of hygienic requirements on all the employees at kitchens and restaurants of hostels as well as cooking tools. Moreover, the university president urged taking stringent measures concerning the receipt of supplied food, its quality and compliance with health standards. Cairo University President pointed out that ،،tendering food supply that many experienced bodies working in this field applied for will be differentiated on the basis of supplied food quality, health standards and best prices. ,, He added that ،،there is technical and financial committee for differentiation and attribution according to specific conditions after examining application requests. ,,
Cairo University President ordered the housing of accepted students at the university hostels on the first day of the new academic year September 24, 2016.
Cairo University Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs Mohamed Osman El-Khosht said that ،،Cairo University is the one that manages restaurants at its hostels. The bodies that supply food for hostel restaurants are only responsible for supplying food products according to hygienic requirements and storing quality. ,,
