Cairo University President Gaber Nassar received Sudanese Higher Education, Science and Technology Minister Ying Kay Lam Tot during his visit accompanied by a delegation to Cairo University. The visit is on the margin of South Sudan celebration of graduating some of its students from Egyptian Universities and Higher Institutes which was held at Grand Celebration Hall at Cairo University.
The meeting was attended by the Head of Education Committee at the Legislative Council of the Republic of South Sudan Magor Babor Agal, Ambassador of South Sudan at the Republic of Egypt Antony Kon, Ambassador of League of Arab State at South Sudan Mohamed Monsef and Vice-Minister of Higher Education, Science and Technology at South Sudan Paul Dink Shaul.
The two sides discussed means of cooperation between Cairo University and Ministry of Higher Education at South Sudan in educational fields, increasing Sudanese students enrollment opportunities at Cairo University and facilitating student visits for training.
The Sudanese Minister expressed his appreciation of Cairo University for its care for South Sudanese students. He said that ،،South Sudan State looks forward to opening more cooperation horizons with Cairo University in educational, cultural and research fields. ,,
Cairo University President Gaber Nassar said during the meeting that ،،Cairo University gives serious consideration to African students including South Sudanese students and works on mingling them in academic life. ,, He referred to the deep brotherly relations between Egypt and Sudan.
Cairo University President added that ،،Cairo University, in cooperation with the Egyptian Higher Education Ministry, is ready for receiving all students from various nationalities. ,, He pointed out that ،،Cairo University is keen on its educational and cultural role at the regional and international levels. ,,
The Head of Education Committee at the Legislative Council of the Republic of South Sudan Magor Babor Agal said that ،،Egypt has several projects at South Sudan and we look forward to cooperating with Cairo University in joint researches of development fields. ,,
