Cairo University Council reviewed, in its meeting on Monday, January 23, 2017, a report on the progress of first term exams at faculties. The report is reviewed by Cairo University Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs Mohamed Osman El-Khosht. The council referred to the quiet atmosphere that exams were conducted in and the non-occurrence of any incidents that may hinder their progress as all necessary support and rules are approved by the university concerning exams as well as the remarkable reduction of cheating cases among students. The council commended bubble sheet system that Cairo University faculties performed exams with among students with a rate ranges from 60% to 80%. The University Council congratulated faculties and their administrations on the occasion of the first term end. The council urged announcing results for students with mid-February at maximum.
Cairo University Council decided launching a study requirement for Cairo University students in all stages and specialties, entitled ،،Ethics and Joint Human Values among Peoples,,. This curriculum tackles study, analysis, ethics and joint human values among peoples such as peace, peaceful co-existence, accepting the Other, civilizational variety, cultural dialog, human rights, law respect, social responsibility, collective work, work ethics, crisis management and science and practice ethics. The curriculum is taught only one time throughout the study years. It is one of the graduation requirements.
Cairo University President said that ،،the university provided 200 books for every faculty and students are to be provided with the book on CDs with the university website link. Each faculty will determine how to design the exam for students.,,
Cairo University earlier launched a competition last year among specialists and experts from inside the university and outside it to prepare the curriculum according to certain specifications. Four books won the first place. It was decided that the first curriculum, prepared by researchers from Faculty of Graduate Studies for Education at Cairo University, be taught.
Cairo University Council reviewed the total sum of donations for Abou El-Rish Japanese Hospital for Children and Abou El-Rish at Al-Mounira reaching EGP 17, 000, 000. Cairo University also infused money from its own money at both The Japanese Hospital for Children and Abou El-Rish Children Hospital at Al-Mounira reaching EGP 60, 000, 000.
Cairo University President said that ،،nearly EGP 10, 000, 000 will be infused for equipping a land behind The Japanese Hospital for the project of establishing outpatient clinics for increasing the medical services presented for children by the funding of Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA).
Cairo University Council decided providing faculties and administrations with a competitive incentives package of nearly EGP 10, 000, 000. A scientific committee is formed for making a conception on standards and determining competitive fields and distributing incentives within the university efforts to develop faculties and administrations, excel in fields related to administrative development, scientific research, community service, educational process and others.
Cairo University Council reviewed, with Giza Governor Kamal El-Dally attending, the plan of developing slum areas at Giza Governorate and the conception of the development strategy that will be carried out in the framework of a protocol signed between the Ministry of Housing, Giza Governorate and Cairo University.
The council earlier started its meeting by condemning the terrorist attack that resulted in the martyrdom of 5 Egyptian soldiers at Sinai while they were in their way back from vacations.
