Confucius Institute Cairo University organizes the eighth tournament of Chinese Language Teaching Methods. It is attended by nearly 100 Egyptian and Chinese professors of Chinese Departments at different Egyptian Universities and Visiting and volunteering Professors of Confucius Institute. The forum discusses Chinese language teaching experiments and teaching tools of Chinese Language Departments of universities, Confucius Institute, and Chinese language centers in light of the growing demand for Chinese language learning in Egypt. The forum tackles issues of academic dialog and media for cultural exchange.
The Manager of Confucius Institute at Cairo University Rehab Mahmoud indicates the positive position of Chinese language teaching in Egypt in the opening speech for the forum. She expresses her hope in the development of Chinese language teaching methods level. The demand for Chinese language learning grew in the latest years due to Chinese economic growth and openness to the world and Egyptian knowledge of Chinese culture as well. Confucius Institute Cairo University is established in 2007 under the convention between Cairo University and Beijing University.
