Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht announces that Cairo University takes actions to develop some theaters of the university to receive Cairo University International Festival for Theater. The festival will be held at stages of Cairo University in participation with some global universities. Elkhosht added that this is coordinated with the official committee formed by Ashraf Zaki the Chief of Acting Professions Syndicate and Dean of Higher Institute of Theatrical Arts. The committee is preparing for organizing the festival and deciding the participation rules, awards, and all activities of the festival at Cairo University stages.
Cairo University President pointed out that the university appreciates the important role of theater in general and is concerned with the university theater. He added that shows will be presented at Cairo University stages through Cairo University International Festival for Theater within the framework of Cairo University traditions. Theatrical shows are purposeful creative shows that attract students who are aware of the importance of university theater and its mission. Elkhosht indicates that sublime arts should occupy youth minds to combat extremist ideas.
Cairo University has 7 theaters technically equipped for theatrical activity.
