Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi issues a republican decree of appointing Prof. Dr. Iman Aly Saroit as Dean for Faculty of Computers and Information, at Cairo University (FCI – CU), for three years.
Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht extends his congratulations to the dean, who holds the deanship office for the second time. He wishes her the best of success in developing and lifting the faculty up at educational, research, and administrative levels within the framework of university strategic plan.
Prof. Dr. Iman Aly Saroit received her B.Sc. in Engineering in July 1985, M.Sc. in Engineering in 1990, and Ph.D. in Engineering in June 1994 from Faculty of Engineering, at Cairo University. She was appointed as a demonstrator at Cairo University in 1989. She went on to become Professor of Information Technology (IT) in 2006. She became chairwoman of Information Technology Department, at Faculty of Computers and Information, Cairo University, from September 2008 to February 2009. She became Vice-Dean for Education and Students for the same faculty from February 2009 to November 3, 2014, then a dean for the same faculty from November 4, 2014, until present.
Faculty of Computers and Information is one of the most important faculties of Cairo University. It is a pioneering faculty in computers and information studies in Egypt and the region. Many educational styles and modern techniques were entered to the faculty that became a developed one.
The faculty is distinguished by many specific technology specialties and elite of best computers professors in Egypt. The faculty teams are pioneering ACM competitions at the level of Arab Republic of Egypt, the Middle East Region, and North Africa for years.
Faculty of Computers and Information, at Cairo University (FCI – CU), was established in 1996 by decision of Supreme Council of Universities according to a republican decree of founding faculties of computers and information.
