Faculty of Science Cairo University Participates in International Day of Persons with Disabilities

 Faculty of Science at Cairo University organizes White Cane ceremony as an activity of Cairo University celebration of International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The ceremony is sponsored by Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht. Faculty of Science ceremony is organized due to Cairo University concern in disability challengers.


Faculty of Science Dean Elsayed Fahim honors visually impaired employees of the faculty during the ceremony and awards them electronic cane concurrently with International Day of Persons with Disabilities. The honoring is attended by Cairo University Vice-Dean for Community Service and Environment Development Tareq Elaraby, some faculty members and employees.


The ceremony is named White Cane because white cane is symbolic of achievement and independency for the visually impaired, and it is a sensitive tool that helps movement and transference without hindrance for the visually impaired persons.
