Cairo University President Mohamed O. Elkhosht announces that Cairo University and Paris-Sorbonne University have renewed a cooperation agreement to grant joint scientific degree of Bachelor of Law in French and postgraduate diploma granted by Institute of International Law. The agreement signature is attended by Faculty of Law Dean Sabry Elsnousy, Institute of International Law Manager Tarek Fathy Sorour, and Paris-Sorbonne University Representative.
Cairo University Faculty of Law Dean Sabry Elsnousy said that the agreement signed between Cairo University and Paris-Sorbonne University in 1992 in accordance with a previous understanding between Egypt and France renewed every five years. Law is taught in French by Institute of International Law in accordance with the agreement between Cairo University and Paris-Sorbonne University. Lecturers from Paris University 1 are teaching and evaluating in the French section with the same standards that French University students are treated with. French University is one of the most ancient universities in the world. It occupies number 18 at the world level in world university rankings.
International Law Manager Tarek Fathy Sorour assures that students are granted BA and MA certificates through study at the institute in accordance with the agreement. He pointed out that the institute is run by an Egyptian Manager and a French Manager. Cairo University grants equivalency diploma in Egyptian Bachelor of Law for each learner, in addition to legal subjects taught in Arabic according to specific rules of Universities Organization Law.
Sorour illustrated that Institute of International Law gives the opportunity of MA Degree qualifying for PhD in Law. The institute also grants international business law diploma for non-recipients of Bachelor of Law.
