The Combating Harassment and Anti-Violence against Women Unit at Cairo University participate in the activities of the seminar entitled ،،Egyptian Universities Experiences in Combating Violence Against Women,, held by Faculty of Medicine Mansoura University and sponsored by Mansoura University President Mohamed Hassan Elqenawy. The seminar is attended by Mansoura University Vice-President for Education and Students Affairs Ashraf Abdelbaset, Official of Girls Enabling Committee at Mansoura University Samah Elsaid, a number of faculty members and students at universities.
The Manager of Combating Harassment and Anti-Violence against Women Unit at Cairo University Maha Elsaid operates the seminar and presents Cairo University experience in combating Harassment and Anti-Violence against Women through a video. The video includes illustrating the psychological influence of harassment and shows the symptoms of psychological, physical and electronic harassment. It supports girls to present legal complaints and apply to confidential psychological therapy sessions.
Prof. Dr. Maha Elsaid presents an explanation of the policy of the unit depending on two themes; the first is involved with adopting measures for protection and the second is involved with taking necessary measures for dealing with harassment and healing its consequences.
Prof. Dr. Maha Elsaid pointed out that the unit aims at implementing policies for combating harassment, operationalizing measures necessary for protection, raising awareness, adopting suitable measures for dealing with harassment, healing its consequences, and building trained effective cadres in combating harassment and violence against women.
