Cairo University President Mohamed Othman Elkhosht opens new expansions at Faculty of Economics and Political Science including new floor at faculty building to contribute to increasing the number of study halls with 25%. The opening is attended by Faculty Dean Mahmoud Elsaid, faculty vice-deans, faculty professors, and Chair of Board of Directors Housing and Development Bank.


The expansions come within the faculty plan to promote educational process in the new academic year and get international accreditation.


Cairo University President said that the university is developing a project of Kasr Ainy development with EGP 5 billions. The university opens the first Burns and Chest Emergency Unit in Egypt and 5 units in Abul-Rish Hospital this year. The new Abul-Rish Clinics building and Endocrine Surgery Unit will be opened soon. The senate added that Cairo University signed an agreement for developing National Cancer Institute Southern Building with EGP 300 millions to increase accommodation capacity with 30%.


Elkhosht pointed out that Cairo University is decentralized with 60% and deanship authority is operationalized. Compulsory fees that were imposed on faculty members when they extend secondment are cancelled to help remove obstacles that hinder their travel because they represent one of the pillars of soft power of Egypt at other states. Elkhosht added that no financial burdens are added to faculty members and employees regarding Health Care Fund.
