Faculty of Science, Cairo University, Gets Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education

 Dr.\ Gaber Nassar, President of Cairo University, announced that Faculty of Science, Cairo University, has got National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education. Thus, the number of the faculties that have got Quality Assurance and Accreditation became 10 faculties up till now. These faculties are Faculty of Pharmacy, Faculty of Agriculture, Faculty of Medicine, Faculty of Economics and Political Science, Faculty of Nursing, Faculty of Engineering, Department of Electronics and Communication Engineering, Faculty of Oral and Dental Medicine, Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, Faculty of Physiotherapy, and finally Faculty of Science. He said that the faculties that have got quality assurance have met all the academic criteria which are related to organizational ability and educational effectiveness according to reports of revisers and experts. President of Cairo University has also pointed out that all the faculties are about to reach the rates required to the quality as well as matching lists of accreditation practices according to criteria of National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation of Education and models of quality organizations and international accreditation, such as Faculty of Regional and Urban Planning, Faculty of Computers and Information, and Faculty of Archaeology.


President of Cairo University has confirmed that Cairo University seeks providing resources and options necessary for developing all elements of educational and research process as well as reaching quality level required for education and scientific research in faculties of Cairo University. Noteworthy, measurements of Accreditation and Quality of National Authority for Quality Assurance and Accreditation focus on organizational ability and educational effectiveness. Organizational ability includes: strategic planning, administrative system, organizational structure, financial resources, community service, and societal participation, whereas educational effectiveness includes: curricula, syllabuses, post-graduate and scientific research stage, the proportion and number of faculty staff members to students, and continuous evaluation of educational process. Measurements are conducted through two stages; the first includes the internal revision of all elements of educational, research, and administrative organization, whereas the second includes performance evaluation and helping faculties to apply for accreditation according to standard criteria of higher education quality.
