Cairo University President Inspects Progress of First-Round Student Elections

 Cairo University President Mohamed Osman Elkhosht said that student elections at Cairo University witnesses democracy and total neutrality. He added that he calls students to choose their representatives carefully and not to be deceived by slogans.


Elkhosht added that there are 20 faculties at Cairo University witnessing student elections. Students in eight faculties win by acclamation. Elections are conducted at 12 faculties. Balloting is conducted by locked glass cases. Students follow up electoral process from beginning until the counting process. Cairo University President pointed out that electoral advertisement is allowed for students. Candidate students advertise themselves inside faculties and hostels and by social media without the university interference into elections allowed since November 29.


Cairo University President earlier made a tour at Faculty of Law and Faculty of Urban Planning to check up the preparations of student elections. The first-round student elections is made to select committee members at the level of every faculty.


A dialog is held between Cairo University President and students to assure of the sound progress of the electoral process. He urges regular education at faculties and lectures
